Tips to create an impactful display
A shop window is a snap-shot of what consumers can expect when they visit your store. The average adult spends 11 days a year virtually 'window-shopping' on their phones (Express 22/10/21). Yet, a retailer has just 3 seconds to impress a shopper with their display.
How can you maximise the impact of your shop window to draw in the consumer?
- Refresh your windows regularly. You should change your display once a month or more. This is the best way to keep consumers interested and ensure that displays are relevant to the stock you have at that time.
- Think how you will position your stock. Eye-level can be deceptive when creating your displays from within the store. Make sure you have a good understanding of where the eyes of passers-by will fall to make sure you hit your mark.
- Consider your arrangement of stock to make sure it flows. Keep it simple by sticking to one of four groupings. The Pyramid, Zig-Zag, Steps, or Fan (upside down pyramid).
- Choose a theme. Making sure your design has a repetitive element to it will make it more eye-catching. This could be selecting a dominant colour or repetition of a product in a defined shape. For instance; selecting blue coloured products to create an oceanic scene, or display rainbow made up of candle jars.
- Keep your story simple. Don’t overwhelm the consumer with too much on display in your window. The aim is to entice someone into the store to discover more themselves. Ensure you have more stock to continue their journey in store, once you have their attention.
- Choose effective lighting. A well-lit display has significantly more appeal than a dark one. Thinking of incorporating our Electric Wax Burners into a display? Switch out the halogen bulb for an LED to avoid the heat!
