Continuing our look at independent retailers, we are chatting to Tracy from The Only Way is Melts.

Tracy is just a stone’s throw away from Aromatize HQ in our neighbouring Bolton, yet it was at the Spring Fair in Birmingham’s NEC she discovered Aromatize!

Tracy has been trading for 6 years and her business has grown steadily in that time. Now she works with a small dedicated team of 5 and considers herself extremely lucky to be working closely with her friends and family.

“The most rewarding part about running my business is the customer satisfaction and constant positive feedback we get. Customers constantly praise my staff and I personally think they are the best.”

This kind of dedication is what leads to 90% of Tracy new customers finding her through word of mouth. Plus, the loyalty of her existing customers is clear to see with The Only Way is Melts winning an award in 2020 as ‘Independent Shop of the Year’. A phenomenal achievement during an exceptionally challenging time. They even got a congratulations from Downing Street!

Tracy started off making her own wax melts and buying high-street tealight burners to sell with them, but that all changed when she discovered Aromatize.

“My absolute favourite products from Aromatize are the electric touch lamp burners. They look so sophisticated and elegant when lit and are the perfect coupled with my handmade wax melts.”

It hasn’t all been easy though and Tracy has pushed herself and her business to be the best it can be, but the hard work is paying off with a newly opened second shop in Hebden Bridge.

“I have constantly worked and actually as we speak, I am in Lanzarote at the side of the pool, cocktail in hand and my phone in the other! I am always on hand for customers and staff in case any problems arise.”

The holiday might be already forgotten in the excitement of opening the new store!
